Created to link the National Park Areas that are coastal, i.e., Lakeshores and Seashores. Plans call for it to be expanded to include other nationally preserved coastal areas, i.e., Bureau of Land Management. We need to consider if it should include state protected areas that are coastal, or if that should be a separate template.
