Template needs a few updates
- I've temporarily added an auto-doc page, but this will only list the 5 TFs that are in the WPBannerMeta template. A /doc page will need to be created in order to list all of the TFs instructions.
- The "Nested" parameter only works for the 1st five TFs. The Nested parameters under the /taskforces hook need to have "Nested" removed, and then added backed under the Template:WPBannerMeta/hooks/tfnested.
- Article alerts is hooked to Template:WikiProject Tropical cyclones, which no longer exists. A MAIN_CAT parameter needs to be added to each TF, and the article alerts subscription needs to be updated to pull from the talk page categories.
- More organization needs to be added to the sub-categories, I can work on this, but it will take me some time, as it is complicated. Thanks --Funandtrvl (talk) 17:52, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
- The Article Alerts subscription page has been updated to link to the talk pages category for the sub-project for Tropical cyclones. --Funandtrvl (talk) 18:13, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Funandtrvl: your last edits broke the category structure; I am reverting until such time as you create the additional categories that your version populates. UnitedStatesian (talk) 15:27, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

- @UnitedStatesian:, I'll create the sub-categories, for each sub-project, and I'll create a /doc page too. But give me some time!! --Funandtrvl (talk) 22:24, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
WP Severe weather
@Hurricane Noah: Hi, I was doing some general maintenance of WikiProjects and noticed that WP Severe weather does not match in name with its categories. I then noticed that at Special:Diff/1016386483 you changed the categorisation from "Severe weather articles" to "Thunderstorm and tornado articles" alongside converting it into a taskforce. But it was reverted soon after. Can I change it back to "Severe weather articles"? Thanks! —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 08:27, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @CX Zoom: The issue was that "severe weather" is a very United States thing and not a global one. The issue arose regarding what constitutes severe weather since nearly everything else within the project could be considered severe weather if you take a global definition rather than the how the National Weather Service defines it. The categories were changed to separate out these articles from everything else to avoid confusion with people unfamiliar of how the United States does things. People were resistant to the project mergers and renaming but were okay with cats changing. I would recommend leaving the cats as they are since Thunderstorms and tornadoes is less ambiguous than Severe weather. NoahTalk 11:45, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- Oh sure. Thanks for the clarification. If you don't mind can you add a brief summary in the Template code, so future visitors know what's going on with it? —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 12:20, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
Restore Current class as an option
It is a hassle to figure out what exactly needs to be changed, but I don't think we ever decided as a project to remove Current class as an option, in part because that would be a bad idea and it's a class we use quite a bit. Please revise this to fix this issue and restore Current class as an option for ongoing / unassessable articles. Master of Time (talk) 01:16, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
