I am Amy C. Driskell and am currently employed by the Smithsonian Institution as the Project Manager of the Smithsonian's DNA Barcode of Life program. My Ph.D. and postdocs were in phylogenetics and my dissertation is on the phylogeny and evolution of the Australian Meliphagidae. I am essentially a molecular zoologist, although have lately begun work on marine algae (all groups) and the land plants of Central America. I have worked on most of the animal phyla as well. Fungi? Not so much. And I believe prokaryotes are merely tools used to further our knowledge of more interesting things.
