Andrew Kling was born in Iowa City, Iowa on December 25, 1970 to Marilyn Kay Heady and Timothy George Kling. He has one brother, Nathan David, and one sister, Kimberly Ann (deceased).
In 1973, Andrew's family moved from Iowa City to 725 Compton Parkway, Macomb, Illinois. His father opened an obstetrics and gynecology practice and worked at the McDonough District Hospital. Andrew's mother spent most of her time watching the boys and working with Shetland Sheepdogs which she raised and showed.
As a boy, Andrew had quite a few adventures at compton creek, a creek across from his home. There he would spend a fair number of his days catching frogs, playing in the mud, and in the winter skating on the ice. Nathan often joined in these adventures along with his friend Matt Henderson.
Andrew currently resides in Boston.
