A very early page from me and a couple of questions.

I am in my early sixties and am interested in electronics and railways.

I find using Wikipedia itself easy but editing does not seem in any way intuitive. Having a couple of web sites including a 134 page site Media:www.horstedkeynes.com (I am fairly html liteate) but just cannot get my head around for example making my name above a headline!

Secondly why is so much importance laid on published book material rather than electronic information?

I started a page on Wikipedia about the Ouse Valley Railway. Little is known about this line and there are only two published (paper) articles. I have researched the act of parliament and visited the Couty Records Office where the original maps are held. Because some of my information on the Wikipedia page disagrees with one of the published works the published work is being taken as fact when in fact I know that I am right. And the author of the work agreed in an email to me that this was a small article in a large book and he took his information from a magazine! Yet the published paper article is taken as Gospel.

Finally for now someone is trying to delete the page on the Ouse Valley Railway because it "is copied from a web site" (yes - mine!). This seems to be going round in circles in that it is marked for deletion, which I remove, then the deletion returns! I can't see how to get out of this. I have een put a line on the web site saying that I have no objection to the Wikipedia article!
