Animosity
Animosity are a band based in Dorking who have been playing local gigs for the past 5 years.
History
About 5 years ago, Alex, Charlie and David formed a band with Jack Greenway and Cameron Knight. They lasted one school Talent Show before splitting up over a conflict of interests. Alex, Charlie and David decided to go it alone, and joined a local youth group called Live and Direct, who strived to teach young people how to play their instruments and what to look out for in the music business. Here hey had a weekly practice whilst being mentored by such legends asAndy, Quasimo and of course, Alan. They were part of LaD for 3 years and took part in their quarterly gigs, located around leatherhead, bringing their hordes of friends from Dorking. Towards the end of their time at LaD, their long time friends and newly established band The Labrats joined and together put on some of the best gigs leatherhead will ever see. After LaD, gigs for Aniomosity slowed up, with just the occasional school talent show and friends parties. Until recently this had been the story...
Now
About a year ago, the nice old guys down at the Lincoln Arms pub, along with Joey P, Lord Du-can and Guy, decided to set up friday night gigs. The idea was to get local bands involved in the scene and for all proceeds to go to a well deserving charity. These nights are now dominated by the Dorktown Punks, a group of people who are united by their love of Punk music, especially that which is played live. Animosity got their first gig at the Lincoln Arms in mid 2006 through their long term friendship with Guy, a founding member of Dorktown Punks. They have now self produced an eleven track album which was released in early 2007. The album was first sold at Amphishock Battle of the Bands and over 50 copies were sold on the first night. Animosity continue to grow in popularity and have recently had broadcasts on a German radio station.
Super-Groups
All members of Animosity have branched off to form other bands such as The Slugnuts and Black Ink. These are mostly collaborations with close friends and local musicians.
