This is the Wiki page for Rick Clemenzi, Asheville, NC, USA

Subject matter expert in the Geothermal Heat Pump industry focused on Advanced Thermal Systems for Decarbonization. Our primary interest is applying Advanced Engineering to #CleanEnergy and #RealClimateAction problems. We actively blog on all that at https://twitter.com/netzerofound.

Credentials:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • CE/CS B.S. MIT '81, unofficial minor in Technical Business Management (and undergrad thesis)
  • Certified GeoExchange Designer (CGD) - IGSHPA and Association of Energy Engineers
  • Technical Committee member C448 ANSI/CSA/IGSHPA Bi-national Standard for "Design and installation of earth energy systems"
  • Former IGSHPA Trainer for Accredited Geothermal Installers and Accredited Vertical Loop Installers
  • Licensed geothermal specialty HVAC Contractor (commercial and residential)

Major Current Innovations:

  • Industry Heat Pumps -- Industry is the last major Sector which still needs major Carbon Elimination solutions for #RealClimateAction. We are developing a new form of Modular Encapsulated Heat Pump for achieving the High Temperatures necessary to eliminate fossil from Industry Process Heat production. See more at http://IndustryHeatPumps.com/.
  • PV Robotics -- We developed PV Robotics(tm) http://pvrobotics.com/ for Extremely Fast Fully Automated Very Large Solar Array Installation. This innovation-based effort won a DOE Phase I grant which demonstrated how automation can massively accelerate and lower the cost of Solar, and thus help transition our economy off fossil fuels to #RE100 -- 100% Renewable Energy. The project is now underway, with key Autonomous Vehicle capabilities now being added under sponsored research at UNC-Asheville. The latest project video can seen here https://intelli-products.com/video/.

We helped establish a team of IGSHPA certified GHP experts for improving and maintaining the Geothermal heat pump (GHP) page. That page still needs work by some subject matter experts.

We are also collectively building/maintaining the Thermal Battery page and a redirect at Thermal Energy Battery to help folks understand what GHP's do.
