About me: CodeMaximus XT
Hello everyone I am a person interested in technology, AI and IT and one thing that just insterests me so much is the inner workings of Mechanical spinning disks(hard drives). I have been collecting them since early 2024 as one hobby I soon began loving. I love IT and tech, retro Pcs are one other thing too. I feel that older tech blows my mind in simpilicty and usability.
My hobby: Hard Drives
There is just something calming about collecting Hard Drives new, working, or even dead ones. Each drive feels like a tiny vault of history, btw I dont see them as junk but as relics of computing history. I love opening them up and studying their precise, almost mechanical beauty: the way the actuator arm glides with such accuracy, or how the platters shimmer like polished mirrors under the light. The engineering inside is incredible: how something so compact can manage billions of bits with such precision still amazes me. Every brand and era tells a story through design quirks, labeling, and even the sound of its spinup hum. For me, it’s not just about collecting hardware; it’s about honoring the genius engineering behind a technology that quietly powered the digital world for decades including today. Think of it like a plane flying one inch above the earth counting every blade of grass, well you have a Hard Drive. Amazing ultra precise mechanical instruments that store more than your local library.
My history on Wikipedia
I have been editing on Wikipedia for a while now since around october 2024 and I researched with my own time to give people knowlege of the inner workings of Hard Drives, how the internet works and on retro technology like floppy disks and cassette tapes.
