Corey Jon Baker is an American singer/songwriter, actor, and dancer, and an entertainer and visual artist by nature, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. At an early age, Corey developed a drive for creativity, thus propelling him into the music, dance, and theatre world. A tour de force, from print modeling for LuomoVougue, to the original cast of the Tony Award winning Broadway show Fela! presented by Jay-Z and Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith. He has also worked with legendary music executive Tommy Mattolaon the play adaptation of Superfly, the 1970s classic film. Corey has performed for artists ranging from Madonna and Kanye West, Prince and Sting, to influential leaders such as Oprah Winfrey, Barack and Michelle Obama. Upon presenting his own work at the GuggenhiemMuseum, Corey recognized how great one can become as a visual and performing artist as well as a leader, poet, songwriter, and activist. Diving head first into his soul in pursuit of a journey in music, Corey developed a sound and force in music like no other, Galactic Soul. It's vision is to unite a new generation of people that uses music to change lives and ultimately the world. As a new recording artist with a fresh new sound and years of performing for sold out audiences around the world, Corey wants his fans to "pose questions, and to be removed from the weight of things that burden them." Corey believes his music should "make people want to enjoy life, think, and see how it’s going to be ok. When we need young leaders, I want them to come from this movement. I want us to be on a continuum, riding a legacy of artists who did something good with their music. I'm writing through my pain, shame and success. It’s all in my music, anything anyone needs to know about me, is in my music. If you listen to it, or meditate on the lyrics, you will get a piece of my heart. More than I could bear to tell in person.” In 2011, Corey founded an entertainment and lifestyle company, Galactic Soul LLC, which manages and produces music artists, fashion designers, and filmmakers. On April 7th, 2014, Corey Jon released his debut EP “Crazy Glue” and embarked on a world tour. Corey Jon also serves as a Big Brother to at-risk youth in Brooklyn.
