A bit about me:

I am a Library Assistant in the cataloging department at the Getty Research Institute currently pursuing my Master's in Library and Information Science from San José State University. I have a Bachelor's degree in Politics and Spanish from Whitman College. My passions are wide and varied - in the context of the library world, I am interested in how representation and narrative within archives and collections influences political thought, theory, and public policy; in my personal life, I am deeply invested and involved with art in all it's forms, mutual aid and community organizing, and outdoor adventure activities like hiking, backpacking, and climbing. I believe in the value of equity and diversity in metadata, and hope to increase the visibility of marginalized people, their stories, lives, histories, etc. I believe in decolonizing metadata, archives, and collections, and see open access resources as one pathway towards this end.

Conflict of interest statement:

I work at the Getty Research Institute, a cultural institution in Los Angeles, CA "dedicated to furthering knowledge and advancing understanding of the visual arts" per Getty Research Institute's Wikipedia page.

As a cataloger, I am deeply invested in quality data, and follow the core editing standards outlined in the Wikipedia guidelines, as well as cataloging standards of data transcription and representation. I welcome editors to contact me via my user talk page if there are issues with my edits or if they fall outside of the Wikipedia editorial guidelines. My aim is to provide accurate, useful, and relevant information that is unbiased and that diversifies the data that is accessible via Wikipedia.
