User:David A/Mousse Characterisation Reference
Mousse:
10.4: Attacks Akane in an attempt to kidnap her. Almost skewers Kasumi in the process.
10.5: Endangers children when throwing knives against Ranma.
10.6: Sets trap to turn Ranma into a duck. Depressed after Shampoo casually says that she hates him. Cheered up by Ranma, but only encouraged to try harder to kill him.
10.8: Incredibly tenacious and never giving up in his fight with Ranma, despite being barraged with explosives by Shampoo. Not so proud that he won’t accept Ranma letting him win though.
13.2: Takes opportunity to gain revenge when Ranma is weakened.
13.11: Buried alive together with Tatewaki, Happosai & Mousse, when found unconscious by Ranma’s classmates, at the chance of getting rid of them.
16.1: Invites Shampoo to the hot spring race, but she turns him into a duck and steals the ticket. Invited by Akane out of compassion, and is grateful but also doesn’t consider her of high standard.
16.3: Frustrated at being beaten by Ryoga.
16.4: Tricked by Ranma’s suggestion to ‘just hang’ in the bath for a little while. Wants to peek on Shampoo in the bath. Leaves Ranma behind for trying to trick him. Depressed about losing his glasses when Shampoo is naked close to him.
16.6: Happy about the unlikely prospect of Ranma being ripped in two by Shampoo and Akane.
18.1: Duck form beaten by Taro.
18.4: Tricks Ryoga & Ranma that he’s out to ‘help’ them in the struggle against Taro, but is really intending to assassinate Ranma when his guard is down.
18.5: ‘Saves’ Ranma from one of Taro’s water-traps, but is really intending to kill him. Caught in a trap himself before he can finish his objective.
18.6-7: Helps to fight Taro after Shampoo is ‘humiliated’ by only being clad in pantyhose.
20.7: Worried about and looking for the missing Shampoo. Learns that she needs a kiss from her true love to not turn into a cat forever.
20.8: Beats up Maomolin to rescue Shampoo. Fights Ranma to prevent him from kissing her (still believes that he can personally break the spell). Allows Ranma to kiss Shampoo just this once due to time running out.
22.7: Notes that Shampoo considers Ranma far more detestable than himself (When under the influence of the ‘reversal-jewel’ which either strengthens love or turns it into hate)
22.8: Learns about the enchantment and hopes that it will make Shampoo more susceptible, but is repulsed/attacked anyway, and Cologne comments that it seems Shampoo ‘doesn’t hate Mousse as much as before’.
22.9: Steals away the rj and tells Akane about the wedding-trap between Shampoo and Ranma. Outraged and furious by Ranma’s ego and willingness to play with Shampoo’s feelings, after overhearing him demand a love confession from Ukyo just to make sure that he’s attractive enough to successfully ‘confess’.
22.10: Tied up and vainly attempting to convince a bitter Akane to interfere, and resorts to using the jewel to make her love for him stronger.
24.1: Tries to save Shampoo from being captured by Mint but grabs her bicycle instead. Annoyed with Lime for asking Shampoo on a date.
24.2: Shocked when told that the Musk Dynasty used to marry transformed animals.
24.3: Offers help to unlock Ranma’s curse, but in reality only wants a chance to permanently cure his own, so he can be together with Shampoo, and to get payback against Mint. Doesn’t seem to take the mission very seriously at the start.
24.4: Lost the map and money for the mission by carrying a tanuki statue instead of the backpack.
24.5: Determined to pursue the Musk to Mt. Horaisan despite the ‘dreadful monsters’ (wild monkeys) said to live there. Hits Ranma from behind to get payback on Mint for shaming him in front of Shampoo, and retrieve the magic ladle for himself and Ryoga.
24.6: Cheats when he can’t quite overcome Mint through regular means. Spares his life and simply ties him up. Very worried when it seems like Ryoga will get killed.
24.7: He’s moved to tears by the prospect of getting rid of the curse, but instead only manages to lock himself in cursed form and is shattered by the concept.
24.9: Tries to wake Ranma up when the latter is beaten by Herb. On order of Ranma, tries to reach the hot water kettle to change back, while she’s keeping Herb busy. Worried and stops when it looks like she’ll get beheaded but ordered to continue.
24.10: Determined to take away the kettle from the Musk and return to being a man. Stands up to Lime & Mint despite being in nearly helpless duck form.
24.11: Continues to fight against Mint in animal form. He’s happy to return to being a man, but determined to immediately come to Ranma’s aid and instantly sucker-beats Mint to get him out of the way.
25.1: Helps Ranma get back to normal by saving her from Herb’s blast. Concerned that Ryoga was caught in the closing chasm, but happy to find him still alive, and also glad when Ranma turns back to normal.
25.2: Satisfied with having prevailed, but gets annoyed when Ranma turns arrogant while trying to thank them and calls them ‘morons who caused the entire situation and were dragging at my feet, but don’t worry about it‘. He’s enough of a hypocrite to complain that Akane ‘peeps on men’ when she accidentally walks in on them in the Tendo bath., even though he always does so himself when given opportunity.
27.4: Buys tickets to a tasteless ‘zombie-demon’ show he thinks Shampoo will find romantic. Shows spine in unwillingness to be bossed around by Cologne. Beats her up, unaware of the ‘apology glasses’ giving him a handicap. Smugly beats up a cowering Ranma, but doesn’t kill him. Thinks that Shampoo should fall in love with him now that ‘he’s stronger than Ranma’. Though he’s normally unwilling to beat up weaker guys. Ashamed and unwilling to continue using the glasses after he overhears an explanation about their nature, but after Ranma is fiercely smug and derisive, he decides to thoroughly humble the latter.
27.5: Convincingly pretends to be apologetic and pesters Ranma to goad the latter into attacking in public. Smug when the latter is humiliated. Again uses the glasses despite Ranma’s demand for a ‘fair manly fight’. Seems dissatisfied with hollow victories when asked by Akane, but tells her that Shampoo won’t pay attention to him until he beats Ranma and if the latter is repeatedly humiliated she can’t keep ignoring him. Unconcerned when Shampoo tells him that the glasses are just intended for weaklings and children and demands he stops using them. Tells her that he’ll do as he pleases until she stops being cold and treats him with respect, but is shocked when her ‘cold looks turn into tears’ and she tells him that ‘she was wrong’.
27.6: Accepts a challenge-letter from Ranma, and is informed by Cologne about the option to put the glasses on backwards and apologise. Decides to fight fairly to prove to the tearful Shampoo that he’s no coward, so she’ll forgive him. Touched and accepts Ranma’s ‘hand of friendship’ when the latter sets a trap by pretending to be willing to forgive and forget. At first outraged that Ranma repeatedly cheats when he’s fighting honestly, but realises that he’s in no position to complain and still tries to win through normal methods. Finally pushed to his limits after being electrocuted, incapacitated with pollen gas, repeatedly kicked when he’s down and hit with a sledge to the head from behind and torched with flame to set up a sucker-kick. Realises that the glasses would be an easy way to win, but puts them on backwards and apologises. It’s unclear if this was a conscious decision or not, but he is satisfied with not turning into the unmanliest of the pair, and is surprised when Shampoo takes him on a date, but foolish enough to take her to the unromantic aforementioned exhibit.
31.8: He tries to cheat in a noodle-eating competition by hiding away the ‘noodle of pride’ (which ‘grants the strength of 100 men’) for himself. Stupidly gloats out loud and gets discovered. Shocked to find out that it only makes you able to _eat_ a 100 men’s share.
33.4: Accidentally runs over two ‘children’, is concerned and checks if they’re all right, but is surprised that their appearance ‘reminds him of Ranma & Ryoga’, leading him to reflexively lash out at them in anger while stating that he hates those guys (possibly for consistently getting the better of him). Jealous when Shampoo cuddles the ‘Ranma look-alike’. He masters the fire-breathing technique, but doesn’t notice that Ryoga is in the way, tells him they’re even for kicking him on the leg this morning but apologises about destroying his ‘lunch’.
33.6: He’s depressed that Shampoo is always so mean to him and won’t accept the scarf he knit her, so he gives it to a Jizou statue instead, since he thought it looked cold. Strangely he calls it -sama despite not being of Shinto or Japanese heritage. He’s tricked and overjoyed when it later transforms into a copy of Shampoo and starts to date him/treat him nicely, despite that the face is wrong, since he can’t see well enough to tell the difference even with his glasses on. He’s extremely determined to continue meeting it despite that it seems to suck his life out.
33.7: He’s unable to see the difference even with his glasses on when the statue transforms into a phony Ranma copy instead. He accepts Ranma’s challenge and splits a large iron bell in two with a single blow, making Cologne conclude that Ranma may have a hard time beating him (despite being tired and not using hidden weapons). He relents after Shampoo gives him a scarf, but is bothered when it turns out to have been intended for Ranma. He apparently turned more powerful from constantly carrying around the statue.
