User:David A/Shampoo Characterisation Reference
Shampoo:
4.5: She attempts to kill female Ranma and is shown as incredibly tenacious in her pursuit/intent. She tries to kill Akane for simply standing in her way during the hunt. She’s accidentally defeated by male Ranma and strangely immediately falls heads over heals for him and grants him an affectionate kiss.
4.6: Her constant soothing affections successfully break down Ranma’s defences, when he’s trying to convince her to give up. It's stated that the kill/marriage option holds true if defeated by an outsider.
4.7: Sneaks into Ranma’s bed. Hunts him when he turns into a girl. Walks through wall. Gives Akane kiss of death after she grabs the lunch Shampoo prepared (cooked P-chan). Uses memory-altering shampoo on Akane.
4.10: Attempts to kill Akane after she gets her memory back. Says ‘Obstacle is for killing’. Convinced that Ranma is a girl who turns into a man, but can’t quite bring herself to kill her/him. Returns heartbroken to China.
5.6: Blames Ranma, rather than Cologne, for her curse.
5.7: It's stated by Cologne that since Shampoo spurned Mousse when they were 3 this still holds true and he won't get Shampoo regardless if he defeats Ranma.
6.3: Helps Ranma during his/her battle with Cologne. Again sneaks into his bath. Kasumi attempts to convince her to stop.
6.4: Tries to stop Cologne from cooking Akane’s pig.
7.2: Fools Ranma to lower his/her guard through faked tears during take-out competition. Walks through wall.
7.3: Mimics a cat to distract Ranma and get Akane out of the competition. Taunts her afterwards.
7.4: Spiteful against Akane as she mistakenly believes Ranma has dumped her. Saddened when her chow mein is destroyed and hugs Ranma when naked in the bath.
8.1: Tricks Ranma into going with her on a date by offering instant Nannichuan powder (which secretly only works once).
8.2: Wants Ranma to give her a good date before handing over the ‘cure’. Apparently charmed into lowering her guard, which lets Ranma spray her with coughing gas and steal her rucksack, but outsmarted him, as it contained a cat. When she sees gauges the dojo destroyer’s ability as too strong for Akane, she smirks at the prospect of letting the latter fight a hopeless battle. Allows Ranma to help Akane on condition that he gives her a kiss, but he can’t force himself to do it.
8.3: Ranma attempts to steal the powder again, but is once more outsmarted as Shampoo replaced it with flower seeds. Angered when Ranma tries to lead the ‘date’ to the Tendo dojo to help out. Takes revenge by placing apparent Nannichuan packets on all the destroyer’s weak spots (‘Which is the real one?’), and filling them with fireworks, to trick Ranma into destroying them.
8.4: Happy when Ranma falls for her trap. Agrees to give him the last packet in return for ‘another’ kiss. Gives made up flowery descriptions to put Ranma in trouble with Soun & Akane. She’s satisfied with the fun date, since she had so much fun tormenting Ranma for a false hope.
10.2: Uses feminine charm to trick Happosai into giving up his love inducing pills. Attempts to use one to force Ranma into loving her. Tricks Happosai again and tries to force-feed Ranma the lifetime pill while he’s asleep.
10.3: Helps Happosai to find Akane after Shampoo accidentally caused her to swallow it instead.
10.5: Turns Mousse into a duck to stop him from attempting to hurt Ranma. Angered when Ranma tells Mousse that he considers her a pest and takes revenge by turning into a cat.
10.6: Saves Ranma from being turned into a duck. Casually tells Mousse that she hates him, and is disdainful when he gets depressed. Attempts to turn Akane into a duck, ‘to give him a new girlfriend’.
10.7: Shows contempt towards Mousse’s reliance on dirty tricks. Kicks him in the face when he tells her that she’s made of ice.
10.8: Sabotages Mousse's fight and barrages him with explosives (he’s eventually buried in a crater) so she won't have to date him. Shows some concern after impressed by his immense tenacity, but later ties him with a chain to the neck and taunts him while holding his food out of reach.
11.7-8: Uses Kairaishi mushroom to make Ranma hug her (and others). She’s amused by the situation, and is unconcerned and refuses to disable it when Ranma gets angry with her. Bothers Akane by forcing her to give hugs to all men except Ranma.
11.9: Somehow manages to hide inside an arm-wrestling machine for the chance to humiliate Akane. Tells her that she’ll gladly fight her for Ranma any time.
11.10: Runs away after a super-strong Akane is too much to handle. Gets Happosai’s super-soba for herself.
12.6: Unconcerned with bothering Ranma when he’s late for school.
12.7: Showing off her superior beauty to Akane in the bath. Brags about never turning into a cat again, due to her water-proof soap, so Ranma won’t hate her anymore.
12.8: Tricks Ryoga that she’s Akane’s classmate Pid and wants to help him with his troubled love, while really intending to steal the soap back. Embarrasses him by showing off her leg in the bath. Won’t share the soap with Ranma for free.
12.9: Tricks Ryoga & Akane into having a date to get back the soap. Contemptuous toward Ryoga’s inability to see through simple disguises. Tricks Ryoga that Akane wants to kiss him by perfectly mimicking her voice, so Ranma can him with a pillar from behind while his guard is down. Gleefully tricks Akane into believing that Ranma and herself arranged the date to be able to hook up, rather than to distract Ryoga and steal the soap.
12.10: Thinks the plan is too stupid, but is reminded that she came up with it. Uses remote-control acupressure to put Akane in the path of a roller coaster, cuddle Ryoga into giving up the soap and get passionate towards/severely endanger Akane. Seemingly annoyed with Ryoga.
13.2: On a visit to China.
14.2: Gives Ranma a magic bell to keep them together. Scares him into accepting it. Breaks down the hall of the Tendo house when delivering food. Furious when a monster cat tries to embrace her. Happy about being hugged and ‘protected’ by Ranma.
14.3: Refuses to get rid of the bell despite that Ranma is utterly terrified. Wants to feel defended and tries to force him into facing the monster cat. After he gets mad, calls her and idiot and states his disinterest she takes revenge by faking tears, lying, giving him the bell and dropping him into the pond, so Maomolin will try to claim him/her as a bride.
15.11: Amused by tricking the Niku-men into believing that the hair-restoring Dragon’s Whisker porridge is still functional.
16.1: Invited to obstacle course race by Mousse (for the price of travelling to Jusenkyo). Turns him into a duck and steals the ticket to invite Ranma instead.
16.2: Tries to suck up to Akane to convince her to hook up with Mousse. Hits Ranma when he tries to defuse the upcoming fight between her and Ukyo. Enthusiastically states that she’ll kill any girl near Ranma. Wonders how many fiancées he has. Annoyed when she is interrupted from killing Ukyo.
16.3: Beats on Ranma together with Ukyo for leaving them behind. Has a temporary ceasefire with Ukyo & Akane in a hot spring.
16.4: Wants to surprise Ranma in the hot spring by showing off her naked body. Checks if it’s him or a bear by throwing a rock at his skull. Enthusiastically nuzzles Ranma in the bath.
16.6: Annoyed with Mousse mistaking a monkey for herself. Tries to drag Ranma in her own direction, away from Akane, unmindful of hurting him.
16.7: Runs away crying after it seems like Ranma chose Akane over herself. Relieved when told that it’s just because he doesn’t want her to turn into a cat. Turned drunk and affectionate by sake vapours. Thinks it’s fun to turn Ranma even more drunk.
17.6: Uninterested in buying Ranma as a husband from Nabiki, when it’s easier to just kill her.
18.1: Sees Mousse’s duck form beaten on the street. She still doesn’t care about running him over with her bicycle, but seems worried afterwards.
18.4: Tricks Ryoga & Ranma that she’s out to ‘help’ them in the struggle against Taro, but is really intending to assassinate Akane while the others are busy fighting.
18.5: Attempts to assassinate a bound & gagged Akane, but is caught in one of Taro’s water-traps
18.6-7: Helps to fight Taro after being ‘humiliated’ by only being clad in pantyhose.
18.10: Helps Ranma set up a silly play to trick Happosai into changing Taro’s name.
20.7: Stated that her true love is Ranma. Wants a kiss from him to break Maomolin’s spell, which would turn her into a cat forever. She’s very happy about the romance of Ranma coming to rescue and give her a kiss.
20.8: Panicked and crying when time is running out and she’s turning into a cat, but kisses Ranma herself when he’s too scared.
22.7: Cheerfully excited at the prospect of picking one of Cologne’s old jewellery for herself, but accidentally picks the ‘reversal-jewel’, which can either strengthen love or turn it into hate. She now considers Ranma far more detestable than Mousse, repeatedly hits him and calls him a ‘stinking male’.
22.8: Without the jewel and basking in the beautiful morning while dutifully going about her chores. Excited at Ranma visiting and incredibly happy when he brings her flowers. Apparently doesn’t remember what happens under the enchantment’s influence. ‘Rj-Shampoo’ violently repulses Mousse’s advances as usual, and Cologne comments that it seems she ‘doesn’t hate Mousse as much as before’. Tells Ranma that the best way to make her happy is through jumping into cursed springs. States that the worst thing she knows is a man who doesn’t know when to quit. Utterly miserable, but still compliant to her village law, after Ranma effortlessly defeats her in combat, but ‘even if he takes her body, she will never give him her heart’.
22.9: Non rj-Shampoo is overjoyed at the prospect of Ranma declaring his love for her, and goes along with Cologne’s plan to trap him into marriage.
22.10: Patiently and intently awaits the ‘love declaration’, but is stunned into confessing first after Akane interferes.
24.1: Warned by Cologne that the guests (Herb, Lime & Mint) are much too dangerous for young girls to stay around. She’s unconcerned about the beaten Mousse and leaves chatting with Mint.
24.2: Worried about Ranma after he/she is beaten by Herb.
24.3: Shocked about Ranma being locked in girl form. Rightfully doesn’t buy that Mousse would help Ranma unlock her curse out of charity.
25.4: Severely beats up Ranma when he’s being nice/considerate towards Ms. Hinako (actually just trying to bribe her to teach him the technique), without giving him the chance to explain.
25.5: Gangs up with Ukyo & Kodachi and attacks Hinako for ‘getting close to Ranma’. She’s uninterested in hearing any ‘stupid talking’. Awakened by Hinako’s question to Akane’s if she is Ranma’s fiancé, and tiredly states that Ranma is _her_ husband. Gives Hinako the kiss of death, as a promise to pursue her to the end of the Earth and kill her for winning the duel, despite the latter sparing her life.
25.6: Makes battle-plans together with Ukyo & Kodachi. Notes that the best way to prevail is to get close enough to attack before she has a chance to react.
25.7: Happy about the prospect of blaming any ‘basketball game’/ambush damage to Hinako on ‘extraterritorial accidents’. Angry at Hinako when Ranma accidentally takes the attack for her, but tricks her that it’s spirit of competition. Throws a ball made of iron towards an unprepared Hinako’s skull. Throws several blunt objects towards her.
25.9: Accepts Ranma’s offer to avenge her defeat for her but is aghast to see him in a girl’s gym uniform. Angry with and helps to beat up Happosai after he reveals that the pressure points must be pushed every day for a month to remove the ability.
27.4: Unmindfully runs Mousse over with her bike when the latter tries to hand her a bouquet of roses. Cheerfully tries to convince Ranma to go on a date. Shocked to find Cologne beaten by Mousse. States that she only likes strong men. Angry at Ranma for being knocked down by a single attack from Mousse. Very confused by Mousse’s sudden ‘super-strength’ and Ranma’s uncharacteristically humble and apologetic behaviour.
27.5: Seemingly unconcerned when Akane tells her that if she’s constantly mean and cold to Mousse he won’t learn any better than resorting to cowardly tricks, and states that she’s indifferent to what Mousse thinks or does. Nonetheless spies on Akane’s and Mousse’s conversation and learns that he keeps humiliating Ranma to make her stop ignoring him. Calls Mousse to a meeting, tells him that the glasses are just protection for weaklings and children and angrily demands that he stop using them. After Mousse is unconcerned about using a crutch and tells her that he’ll do as he wishes until she stops being cold and treats him with respect her ‘cold looks turn into tears’, she tells him that ‘she was wrong’ and runs away.
27.6: Actively tries to avoid Mousse. Doesn’t want to see the showdown between Ranma & Mousse. Disbelieving when Akane tells her that Mousse is fighting fairly despite Ranma’s many dirty tricks. Surprised when Mousse puts on the glasses backward and apologises (apparently as a way to not be the ‘unmanliest’), and tiredly allows him to take her to a date, but is then disgusted and angered since she doesn’t find a ‘zombie-demon’ show the least bit romantic.
29.3: Shown to have accompanied her great-grandma on trips (here to buy herbs) even when she was small, and appeared to be an obedient and cheerful child. Taken by surprise when the cheerfully sadistic Pink sprays her with mandragora pollen. She’s unmindful of crashing into Ranma’s head with her bike. Lied to her village newspaper about her fantasised marriage life with Ranma, where he’s romantic, affectionate and sensual with her. Chinese name referred as ‘Shan Pu’. Ranma converted as ‘Luan Ma’. She thinks it’s ‘just a matter of time’ before she’s married to Ranma, despite his protests. Apparently concerned with Ranma’s safety and warns him about attacks from her enemies/Pink & Link (but not enough to refrain from the interview, and, as shown later, apparently planned the entire scenario). Reflects Pink & Link’s deadly mandragora poison towards her Cat Café customers, afflicting them instead.
29.4: Shown to have taken extensive vengeance on _both_ Pink and Link (despite that the latter saved her life) through striking them a hundred every time she visited their village, during a span of over 10 years., but she still sees herself as the victim and not at fault for endangering Ranma. Attacks Pink & Link in faked concern that they’re attacking Ranma, to throw the fight to make him ‘rescue’ her.
29.5: Smugly reveals that she foresaw that they’d use the ‘flower of womanhood’ and put a protective flower-holder in her hair. Shows a murderously sadistic look on her face, and severely beats Pink & Link to force them to fake still holding her captive. Pushes Ranma into the path of attack to ‘defend’ her when he’s suspicious of her play-acting. She thinks her plot will give him romantic feelings for her and wish to ‘defend her forever’.
29.6: Thinks it’s a ‘romantic ending’ to die together with Ranma, still unconcerned that she intentionally dragged him into it, but eventually gets worried from being assaulted with poison-traps. She’s far more interested in using their time alone in the poison-cage to have sex than to escape. Tries to make out with an unconscious Ranma and taunts Akane when she comes to the rescue. Awakens Pink & Link to help her stop Ranma & Akane from leaving together.
29.7: She almost gets both herself, Akane & Ranma killed as they are all caught by lethal ‘poison snake herbs’. Displays the ability to instinctively fight in her sleep/while unconscious if her life is threatened, as she beats up Pink & Link in this state. Remains unmindful of her own fault in getting Ranma’s legs broken (by saving the lives of Akane, herself and their assailants) and tries to order him to avenge themselves on the twins for saying that he’s weak in their newspaper.
30.2: She tells Ranma that if there were such a convenient thing as a drug that made you accept and give unconditional love, she would have used it on Ranma long ago.
33.4: Cuddles a little boy that ‘looks just like Ranma’
33.6: She’s unmindful that Mousse is lying beaten on the street and casually runs him over with her bike. She later notes that he’s looking very worn out from going away every night, but not because she’s concerned, but because he turns into more trouble for her. She’s angered and kicks Mousse for not being able to tell the difference between herself and a copy with dissimilar face, but is enthusiastic about the opportunity to dump him on the semi-copy even if she leaves him in a dream world. She’s completely unconcerned that Mousse seems to get his life sucked out of him, and is entirely uncooperative with the others in their attempts.
33.7: She remains unconcerned by Akane’s attempts to convince her and plays video games instead, but is tricked by Akane making a ramen delivery order with muffled voice. She immediately starts to snuggle Ranma when she sees him, but moves him as a shield when Akane tries to strike her. She’s annoyed when the statue eats her ramen and thinks it’s free, and when it transforms into a phony Ranma copy in ‘repayment’. When Mousse determinedly attacks Ranma, she half-heartedly caves in and gives him a scarf she knit for Ranma to make him stop, but is annoyed and tries to avoid Mousse afterwards.
34.1: She helps to beat Ranma up to force him to accept her Valentine’s chocolates.
