I was a chaired professor at the University of Pennsylvania before joining Amazon. One stream of research I created involves connecting two of my favorite areas, namely statistics and game theory which recently got a test of time award. (This research also previously got us a NY times mention in a fun piece about being scooped by 40 years.)

(Note: I seem to have two user names that differ by a capital letter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Dean_P_Foster). I wish I knew how to merge the accounts. I like the fact that this account has an ID of 8659. But a 4 digit id is really of no import. Now by 5 digit slashdot ID, 97765, no longer seems important, but boy was I proud decades ago.)
