American of French-German descent. Recently retired teacher. Spent my early career as a journalist (1980s) so I have a lot of respect for sourcing and objectivity. My two most enduring beats during that time (which have continued on as interests, with some fascinating intersections with my later work as a teacher and adjunct professor) were style (Society/TV/Movies/Fashion) and local governance and development (everything from City Hall to Chamber of Commerce).

I'm not new to Wikipedia, having made hundreds of changes, mostly fixed typos or updates to existing articles here and there, but now that I'm retired, I'd like to participate more substantively, including writing articles and helping with research, bigger updates. Not sure how much time I'll have, and I assume it will ebb and flow, but I have a few things in mind now (and Wikipedia has suggested some others) and I figure I'll learn as I go. For that, I felt I should register, officially, so I could track my work and other editors could communicate with me directly.
