Derek Tapley, is an Irish Actor born in Kimmage,Dublin, He has been acting for going on 10yrs now. He started as an extra "watching & learning" with such actors as Andie McDowell, Cillian Murphy & Stephen Rea, Derek made his first featured appearance on TV as a Guard in The Baby Wars moving quickly to Irish Drama Hit "Fair City" playing the part of a Drug Squad Detective.He has Featured in many Irish Based productions such as; The Listener, Primetime, The Barrow Boy and even modelled male underware on RTEs "The Afternoon Show" rumour has it 2010 will be good to Derek, already cast by Stephen P Kenny in his Irish Feature` Blood, Sweat& Wars as tough guy Gerry Long filming due to begin in Feb/March 2010, Is also rumoured to be cast in a big budget movie to be filmed in Ireland & America , Derek trained with The Film Actors Studio in Dublin under the guidance of John Cantwell from Foundation to Masterclass through 2004/06/07. Before Derek even considered being an Actor he was was a HGV driver racing across Motorways through Ireland & the UK, accidentally Derek bumped into an Actors Agent & the rest is history, Derek has recently met one of his all time heroes Sir Roger Moore 007` He auditioned with some of Irelands up and coming actors to play opposite Sir Roger Moore and Derek nailed it!
