Ed!'s WikiProject Photography

Ed!'s WikiProject Photography is a one-man WikiProject undertaken by the user Ed! to systematically contribute photographs to numerous regions of Wikipedia articles, many of which currently have no images or images with restrictions on use. Every image in this project was taken personally by the user Ed!, using either a Canon PowerShot A70 or a Canon PowerShot A550 camera.

Background

There is an unfortunate pattern in the illustration of Wikipedia articles; large volumes of articles are created on a variety of subjects throughout the world. The larger and more famous landmarks and bigger "interest" items received an overflow of pictures from overzealous Wikipedian photographers, while many, many more less "visible" subjects are passed over by the same photographers, creating a large gap in illustration.

The focus of this project is so-called everyman photography; every day objects and locations which are not documented by Wikipedians on camera.
