WikiProject Long Island is a project to better organize information in articles related to Long Island. This page and its subpages contain the suggestions and opinions of interested contributors; it is hoped that this project will help to focus and coordinate the efforts of all. To help, please inquire on the discussion page. The goals of this project are to create, improve, and maintain articles relating to Long Island, its people, politics, geography, history, and the like. WikiProject Long Island can claim parentage of WikiProject New York.

The scope of this project will be all articles directly substantively relating to Long Island. All of these articles should be placed in the Category:Long Island or one of its subcategories. The project banner ({{WikiProject Long Island Banner}}) should be placed on the talk pages of articles relating to Long Island.
