Features

Setup archiving on a page

This script requires archiving be setup on a page to work. To do this, you can add {{subst:Setup auto archiving}} to the top of the page.

If you want OCA to work but you only want manual archiving, you can use {{Archive basics}}.

Settings

To change the size of the "Archive" link, set the variable window.OCALinkSize = SIZE; in your common.js file; the default value is 0.6.

Responsible usage

Please consider not using this tool on talk pages you're otherwise not involved in, and make sure to respect local consensus regarding archiving norms.[1] Emptying out talk pages completely is also discouraged. Keeping some existing discussions—even if very old—is a very user-friendly way of saying "you are welcome to contribute here" to newer editors.

Notes

This script is designed for English Wikipedia. However, it may work for other wikis as well. If you would like to report an issue with how this script works on other wikis, please use the talkpage here.

Installation instructions

Hint: It's much easier if you get ScriptInstaller, then navigate to User:Elli/OneClickArchiver.js and click "Install" at the top.

However, here's the manual method:

  1. Place {{subst:iusc|User:Elli/OneClickArchiver.js}} on Special:MyPage/common.js or a skin-specific page, like Special:MyPage/vector.js.
  2. Clear your cache and enjoy!
  1. ^ If an archiving bot has ceased working properly, consider fixing the problem instead of using this tool.
