The Wikipedia Editor’s Guide to the Universe (Mostly Harmless)

Wikipedia editing, as any semi-sentient being will reluctantly inform you, is a lot like trying to herd hyper-intelligent, caffeinated cats across a busy motorway while arguing about whether pancakes should be classified as food or minor theological experience. Fortunately, you have stumbled upon a personal project: a comprehensive list of references. This is, for all intents and purposes, the Babel fish of citation, the thing that makes the universe slightly less confusing, if only marginally.

Using this list is simple: consult it whenever you wish to assert the truth, or, failing that, a version of the truth that will survive the merciless gaze of editors who derive secret pleasure from adding “citation needed” to your sentences.

Survival Tips for Editors (and Other Slightly Mad Beings):

  • Always carry your towel. And by towel, we mean coffee. Lots of it.
  • Cite everything. And when in doubt, cite a secondary source citing a primary source citing a tertiary source. Accuracy is futile, but appearances are everything.
  • Beware rogue editors. They are often indistinguishable from ordinary humans but may wield passive-aggressive comments with terrifying efficiency.

In short, this list is not just a reference collection. It is a lifeboat in the swirling sea of hyperlinks, footnotes, and existential dread that is Wikipedia. Use it wisely. And remember: the answer may not be 42, but at least it will be properly sourced.
