Stripe System

The stripe system is designed to recognize student's success more regularly than belt testing. Certain stripes must be earned before a student is eligible for each belt test.

A blue stripe is awarded when a child reads a book.
White belt students must read 2 books to earn the blue stripe. Yellow belt students must read 5 books to earn the blue stripe.
A black stripe is awarded when a child demonstrates good behavior at home.
Each week is assigned a theme such as respect, cleanliness or responsibility. Students must focus on the theme for the week to earn the stripe for that week. Students must earn seven stripes in a 12-week period in order to belt test. Students who earn 10 stripes receive a gold star. Students who earn four gold stars in a year receive a trophy.
A red stripe is awarded when a child does well in school.

A green stripe is awarded when any student demonstrates mastery of a taekwondo skill in a pre-test class.

A yellow stripe is awarded for all-around good behavior.
