This is the Wikipedia page of Jonathan Seelye Martin, AKA Ermenrich. I have a PhD. in medieval German literature and am currently working at Illinois State University as a German professor. I originally started editing Wikipedia to improve coverage on medieval German literary topics, but I've since branched out into other fields, such as biblical and ancient history, as well as a small amount of mostly historical linguistics (Germanic and otherwise). My editing tends to go up and down depending on how much work I have.
My user name is taken from the medieval German form of the name of the ancient Gothic ruler Ermanaric (whenever there is an edit on that article I'm often confused and wonder why people are editing my user page). I originally wanted to join as Dietrich von Bern but that name was taken, so I took the name of his arch-nemesis.

The Editor's Barnstar
This barnstar is rewarded to you for your particularly fine contribution to the Huns article! You took what was a somewhat poorly organized article, and made it much more organized! You also helped start work in improving the citations on the page. It is now much more readable thanks to you! So here's a barnstar!--Beneficii (talk) 15:27, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
