Red Aim – a German band performing broadly defined rock music. The group was formed in 1995, initially playing music from the border of Raga Rock[1]. After changing the vocalist to Karsten Brill, the songs began to go towards punk rock and then heavy metal[2].
After the fifth album "Niagara" members of the band formed a power metal group Powerwolf.
In 2006, the album "Pink Necromantic" was announced, which meant to be released in the same year,[3] [4] which, however, never did.
Band Story
The band was formed in 1995. Pascal Flach and Benjamin Buss knew each other well from school.[5] Red Aim released "Sinai Jam" (1996) and "Orange" (1998) as self-released mini-albums before signing the publishing contract at Dortmund with "I Used To Fuck People Like You In Prison" Records (later People Like You Records). The first non-self release was the album "Call Me Tiger".[6] "Call Me Tiger" is an enriched "Orange" with two additional songs. The release was re-mixed and sung by Karsten Brill when vocalist Pascal Flach left the band. [7]Stefan Gemballa joined the band as a drummer. In the same year, Red Aim released the cover of Iron Maiden's "The Trooper".
In 2000, Red Aim was on tour with the Dutch band 7Zuma7. [8] In 2000, they released EP "The Aprilfuckers EP" and in 2001 album "Saartanic Cluttydogs". With the signing of a contract with American labelling company[9] Metal Blade Records, the band changed his line-up. Bassist Thorsten Erbel was replaced by El Davide. Ray Kitzler has joined as a keyboardist.[10] In August 2001, they played at the Summer Breeze Open Air festival in Ostalb. In 2002, the second album published by Metal Blade Records - "Flesh For Fantasy" was released. It was produced at Hagener Woodhouse Studios under the direction of Dan Diamond.[11] The song "Rock You Like A Hurricane" is a cover of the Scorpions band. In April 2002, Red Aim supported the German rock group In Extremo during their spring tour.[12]
In early August 2002, Red Aim played at Wacken Open Air in Schleswig-Holstein. The year 2003 was the next Metal Blade Records album, named "Niagara". On December 6, 2003, drummer Stefan Gemballa was wounded at the end of the show in Saarbrücken.[13]
Around 2003, Karsten Brill, Benjamin Buss and bassist David Vogt formed the power metal band Powerwolf. Stefan Gemballa also later went to Powerwolf.
