I was an administrator here on Wikipedia (RfA), although real life responsibilities prevent me from spending as much time here as I used to. As an editor, I am a generalist. I like to try to improve articles for readability and style – sometimes called wikignoming. I also revert any vandalism I find.

Although I contribute to a variety of article types, I am a member of the following Wikiprojects: Aircraft, Anatomy, Aviation, Aviation accident task force, Medicine, and Molecular and Cellular Biology. I helped create Wikipedia:WikiProject Short article clean-up, but real life has prevented me from working on this as much as I'd like.

Why "Flyguy649"? Although I have an interest in aviation, "Fly" refers to the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster. I used be a researcher use the fruit fly as a model system to study mechanisms of intracellular transport (I then moved onto other systems to study problems in cell biology, but now work in a hospital). I am a guy. And the 649 is a number to distinguish me from the multitude of other Flyguys out there. Truth be told, it's the size (in amino acids) of a protein I once studied. Yes, a bit geeky.
