From Hiroshima to Hope

From Hiroshima to Hope is an annual event held at Gree Lake, in Seattle, WA on August 6 to commemorate the atomic bombing of the city of Hiroshima on that date in 1945, and to remember all victims of war and violence. It features an evening of musical performances and family events culminating in the Toro Nagashi, or Lantern floating ceremony, in which about a thousand wood-and-paper lanterns are floated on the waters of Green Lake at twilight, about 9:15.
