Frockey TM Flying Disc Hockey is a sport conceived and created by Robert M. Vidal, first played on May 23rd, 2003 at South Mountain Arena, West Orange, N.J.

Played on ice skates or roller blades, Frockey combines the thrills and excitement of traditional Hockey with the necessary hand/eye coordination required to play the long established flying disc sport of “Ultimate”.

Frockey’s "minimal contact" rules, (copyright 2003-2009), are designed to allow players the freedom to skate with the intensity of Hockey and the gracefulness of a Figure Skater, with live or recorded music playing throughout the game.

Players advance the flying disc with a combination of passing and hand-offs with the ultimate objective of throwing the disc into the net. Players must pass, not carry, the disc over either of the rink's blue lines. Additionally, players may not score or block the disc within the "No Fly Zone", a semi-circle of 16 feet in front of the goal.

A dropped or blocked disc results in a turnover to the nearest opposing player.

In Frockey, the standard hockey goal is modified with a 12-inch high foam or netted barrier across the bottom preventing the disc from sliding in and forcing the players to score goals with the disc in flight.

Regulation Frockey teams are “co-ed”, having any combination of male and female players on the ice at all times.
