Bill Josey was a key contributor to the thriving music scene in Austin, Texas. Home to South-by-Southwest, one of the world's largest music festivals, Austin has long been a sounding board for up and coming musicians. Bill Josey was instrumental in establishing Austin as "the Live Music Capital of the World" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_Austin).

In his early years, Bill worked at a local radio station, KAZZ, first as Sales Manager, then as Station Manager. Bill's son, Bill Jr., was a DJ for KAZZ who went by the air name "Rim Kelley". In 1965 Bill Sr. started remotely broadcasting live music from local clubs.

Bill pushed the envelope on a number of occassions. Near the end of his career (1975-1976) he worked with White Light, an experimental rock-fusion new-age band. They had moved to the Liberty Hill area, discovered Blue Hole Sounds, and dropped in to discuss a demo tape. After recording White Light, Bill was so impressed that he immediately offered them his services as producer, along with enough studio time to create an album-length work tape, free of charge.
