Retro Sampling is a Swedish company working with recording and sound design, It's well known for it's LoFi sample cd's like the Vinyl Dreams and Audio Impurities and produces a bunch of sample cd's with more noise then melodically playable. The company has reach some kind of cult status on the net for it's odd titles and different sound but also for creating some of its own tools, mostly released as freeware and more intended for sample production then pure music production.

In 2006 they began the collaboration with Akki Plugs to recreate the first virtual instrument based Bozuouki (the Greek national instrument) together with the well known script wizard Nils Liberg it was ready for release in summer 2009 utilizing the Native Instruments Kontakt Player engine and to be called "Virtual Bouzouki", and later in January 2010 released an update called the Rebetiko Instruments adding three smaller bouzoukis for registred users, the virtual instrument set an new standard and raised the bar for all ethnic libraries to come, and became a milestone in the creation virtual ethnical instruments.

While working in almost silence every now and then the company releases a title that are so progressive and processes so many new ways of making music that it slowly changes the very way music and the music industry works, and even though so few titles come out it's the complex and large contacts in the music industry that the company set new seeds in the processing of music threw it's unusual methods and ideas.
