User:Inteha band

The Basics:

The word “Inteha” is a word taken from the Urdu Language. Its literal meaning is “The Extreme.” It can also be used as a synonym for “Conclusion”, thus forming the opposite of the term Ibteda which means the beginning. It has more relaxed colloquial implications to its usage which can include a spectrum of terms like “Limits”, “Boundaries” and “Excellent”. Its usage therefore can include a diversity of expression and variety of meaning. Perhaps the former statement best justifies the band’s motives to name itself “Inteha”, as it aims to define and represent all the possible varieties of genre and sound category. There are no limits in any form of expression. Just as speech is free for all, so is the right to express oneself musically. It is this freedom and the “Limitlessness” that accompanies it that “Inteha” represents paradoxical to its meaning. Within this contrast lies the true spectrum of “Inteha’s” meaning.

The Music:

“Inteha” takes its inspiration from the basics and roots of rock. All out, straight shooter rock. Unadulterated and unrefined rock. Raw and revolutionary rock. Soulful and meaningful rock. Sensible and emotional rock. Music in its true essence is that which materializes from the chordae of the heart and plays out on the chords of an instrument. It is this materialization of emotion at all levels and category of expression that defines “Inteha’s” musical philosophy. Based on outstanding guitar structures ranging from blues to power cuts, spiced with a bass line that mesmerizes the auditory senses and topped with supreme drumming and percussion sequences; “Inteha” lays the foundation of the “Unsignature” concept, where every track is an individual with its own ideology of expression and outcome of sound.

The Origins:

“Inteha” was born in the bedroom of a teenager, in a red, brick town house in Islamia Park, Lahore. Nausher Javed had a heart full of dreams, a mind full of ideas and a handful of chords on a keyboard gifted to him by his parents. Endowed with a mind indigenous to the finer workings of musical details, he set out to teach himself and then master the art of basics and progressions. He was constantly churning out tunes in modes varying from Spanish pop to Techno metal and making home recordings for his friends to awe upon and rave about. Everyone who heard his music somehow believed that he would go places with this gift. In the meantime, in another bedroom of a red, brick in Islamia Park that ironically belonged to the same house mentioned above, another teenager was humming tunes to himself. Naukhez Javed always knew about his younger brother as a budding musical exponent, but kept his own talent under wraps till later. After a few tries of forming a band with some college friends, Nausher stumbled on the right kind of vocalist for his music in his own house. It seemed as if Naukhez’s voice was tailor made for Nausher’s all out style of rock. It took them a little while to decide how they wanted to define their sound, but once they defined themselves, they only headed in one direction, vertically oriented and directed skyward. Inteha released their first single, Dastaan in February 2005. The single took FM stations all across the country by storm. A video was released accompanying the single that further rocketed their popularity via Indus Music and The Musik channels. Inteha was nominated and voted as the new band of the year on FM 89 and Dastaan remained a chart topper for many weeks there. Another single Anjana was released shortly after Dastaan and it enjoyed equal popularity in a different context. Inteha’s first CD is currently underway with many more ground breaking singles and videos to follow.

Nausher:

Nausher always was a wild child in his own right. A silent rebel, a subtle yet goal oriented youth. He may have seemed shy to those around him, but he always knew what he wanted to do and how he wanted to get it done. Inspired by the inner workings of his own musical sense, he grew up teaching himself sounds rather than copying notes from other artists. He is different from a vast majority of musicians in that he never listened to a lot of other musicians. He is his own inspiration and he copies only himself. Perhaps this is the hallmark of a great musician; he is always on the lookout for new knowledge and is constantly learning. An accomplished keyboard player and a guitarist whose skills incorporate many modes and scales, Nausher is the brains of the project. Everything revolves around his sense of rhythm and beats. His only mission is to materialize his thoughts and emotions into sound waves for all to hear and enjoy.

Naukhez:

Naukhez Javed is no doubt an astounding vocal prodigy. His vocals give the gift of expression to his brother’s brainchild. With inspirations from the likes of Kishore kumar, junoon, pink Floyd , nusrat fateh ali khan, he takes after them showing true colors of variety and ability. He has practiced his own style of vocals ever since he was in Crescent Model School in the same class as Ali Noor. The realm of his talent extends beyond simple waxing and waning although he is totally self-taught which is extremely creditable for a vocalist to do so. He can shift scales to any level within any song. The vocal stretching towards the ride out of many a song is a strong characteristic, out done only in live performances. He gives the voice to Nausher’s flow of ideas and emotions. From soft rock to hardcore concert material, Naukhez possesses the versatility to vary his outflow according to situational demands. He has the constant knack of self-assessment and if there is one thing that is certain about him, it is that he will improve with time due to his analytical nature and innate desire to excel.
