Paul A. Davis III (June 18, 1872 – November 25, 1948) was an American architect in practice in Philadelphia.

Life and career

Paul Armon Davis III, usually known during his lifetime as 3rd, was born June 18, 1872, in Philadelphia to Paul Armon Davis Jr.

He earned his diploma in 1900 and returned to Philadelphia. In 1901 he formed a partnership with his elder brother, architect Seymour Davis.

Seymour Davis had entered practice in Topeka, Kansas, in 1886. He served as Kansas state architect from 1893 to 1895.[1][2] His duties in this role included supervision of the ongoing construction of the Kansas State Capitol. His works in private practice included the Columbian Building (1888) and the Crawford Building (1888) in Topeka, both NRHP-listed, and the Kansas building (1893) at the World's Columbian Exposition.[3] Davis returned to Philadelphia in late 1895.[4]
