Jeffrey Snover

I am a Technical Fellow at Microsoft and the Lead Architect for the Azure Infrastructure and Management team. I am the inventor of Windows PowerShell, an object-based distributed automation engine, scripting language, and command line shell. I joined Microsoft in 1999 as divisional architect for the Management and Services Division, providing technical direction across Microsoft’s management technologies and products. I have over 37 years of industry experience with a focus on management technologies and solutions. I was an architect in the office of the CTO at Tivoli and a development manager at NetView. I have worked also as a consulting engineer and development manager at DEC, where I led various network and systems management projects.

I have a wide range of interests including:

  • Technology
  • Philosophy
  • Materials

I'm particularly optimistic about the role of widespread access to information (like Wikipedia) as an accelerator of human progress. I am an absolute beginner at Wikipedia editing.
