User:Lord Challen
I've been posting under the username Lord Challen for years now. I got the name from a novel by Johanna Lindsey. He was a barbarian lord on an alien planet where the folks were large, strong, and generally better looking then average. . . . (as aliens go.) Perhaps the only part that I really match of this character is the barbaric part. I tend to have different reasons, different valves, and different perspective then the average civilized citizen. I don’t mind being mildly rude, confrontational, or stubborn. However, my goal is promote free thought, free speak, and perhaps shift some of the old ideas to something new. I don’t hate the past, but I don’t believe that just because we did it before that we should do it again.
New Editor
I'm new to editing on Wikipedia. I hope to stick around for a while.
Reason for being here
I've begun to love Wikipedia. It's seems honest and it has a fairly decent corrections program. . . . namely who ever disagrees. I've been on the Intranet since 1990, back when it looked like a DOS shell. Wikipedia has created a new dimension of finding answers for me. However, since I'm a little odd, it doesn't address many of the subjects that I am interested in. I hope to add some of the things that I've found over the years.
Personal
I'm have education in computer science, electronic engineering, music, writing, religion, and spiritual stuff. I like philosophy but never took any classes.
Personal Excuses
I'm pretty dyslexic. If something I wrote seems a little twisted . . . it could be the dyslexia. If the sentence structure seems OK yet the thought is still twisted, it’s probably because I meant it that way.
Arrogance
I hope to comply with Wikipedia expectations at all times, (as I learn them.) However, I feel that we could '’’better describe’’’ some the terms that we use. For example: my father taught me about faith, yet I have the nerve to want to redefine it.
There are so many words that we use everyday that mean something different to everyone else. The point in having a common language is to communicate. We have to give up some of our precious words to the common good, so that everyone can understand what we are saying. We must learn to use new words to define our personal space, so that when someone says, “God said that . . . .” that we don’t all freak out.
I hope to promote the changing of common usage of some words. Obviously, I’m going to run into the OR tag a lot. I’m going to work with it.
