Summary

Ivar Ragnarsson (813 - 873), also known as "Ivar the Boneless" or "Imar", was a real and historical figure. He was a 9th century Swedish - Danish king, chieftain, military leader, military commander and medieval Norse - Viking warlord. He was the oldest son of the Swedish king, Ragnar "Lodbrok" Sigurdsson (? - 865), and his third wife, Aslaug Sigurdsdottir. Ivar was also the founder and ancestor of the Uí - Ímar dynasty of medieval Irish kings that ruled the city of Dublin well up to the 13th century. Ivar was born with a condition, possibly osteoporosis, which caused him to have great difficulty with weak and brittle bones. However, Ivar didn't let the disabling condition of his birth affect him. And, with the support of his parents and siblings, Ivar became one of the most, if not, the most, terrifying and respected of all Viking leaders and rulers.
