This is everything my class has learned.

I've only been back in school for a few weeks but already I've learned lots of things. For instance, in my Foundations in Childhood Education Class I learned that the first nursery school was invented in Engaland in the late 18oo's by two sisters, Rachel and Margaret McMillan. Their nursery school was pretty advanced even by todays standards. They offered 3 meals a day, medical check ups, dental check ups, baths, breathing execises plus lots of healthy outdoor activities. I also learned in this class that it is never okay to hand out dittos to children younger than 1st grade. Which surprised me because we did a lot of dittos when I was a kindergartener. Apparently, dittos are developmentally inappropriate because they take the child away from valuable hands on learning experiences like splashing their friends at the water station and dressing up like up like a princess and ordering the other children around in the 'dramatic play area.' We need to positively reinforce a child who has a LD so they don't become discouraged from taking future risks and participating 4. There are certain words we need to use, and words that are inappropriate when talking about a child with a certain disorder 5. Inclusion is a very important aspect of our education system
