The MACX system is based on three circles of expansion, Basics, Style and Presentation with a subset of skills under each heading that are exercized daily.

Biography

Carter's first recognition for poetry came when he was just 14, winning several awards in California Statewide Poetry Contests, including two first place awards in the Bay Area based "Visions of Peace" contest where he won both the Poetry section and Song Writing section the same year (1985).

As a young university student he also became a world traveler, leading to a fascination with culture, dream interpretation and spiritual well-being which would all have a major impact on his future work.

He graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in English Literature and began a career in teaching ESL which took him to Japan for nearly 5 years. During these formative years he began to conceive of and test his system traveling to many other countries to observe their English teaching methods. From these works were formed the basis for the MACX system.

In 1995 he relocated to Honolulu Hawaii, teaching at IIE (Institue of Intensive English) until called to the Big Island of Hawaii. A brief pause from teaching allowed him to pursue his deep interest in Hawaiian history, culture, and spiritualism resulting in the creation of the Hawaii Island CD Drive Guide, a guide that tourists can listen to in their rental cars while driving around the island.

In 2001, Carter co-founded Universal English Academy LLC with Sadanori Takeishi of Taikobo Hawaii Inc, and become sole owner in June of 2004.
