MichaelSamJr is a student at Rice University.
About Me
Michael Sam Jr. is a young man who believes in creating more accessible opportunities so that others can have experiences he once dreamed of. He believes in serving low income communities and low performing schools through his love for sports and investment in academia. At Rice University he majors in Sport Management and minors in both Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities as well as Business. As part of the Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities intro course, Michael is editing the African-American family structure article. Michael is determined to combine his love for sports and his passion to provide life changing opportunities for those who are willing to commit to education advancement.
Mission
Work closely with active students in low income communities to change the mentality from “athletics or entertainment being the way out of the neighborhood” to “education being the way into a great university and successful career, while athletics or their chosen extracurricular being only the compliment to the education foundation.”
Vision
That one day the student athlete mindset will not be limited to their athletic ability and instead rely heavily on their commitment to academic excellence for personal advancement and achievement.
