This is Michael Hurst's user page, a "personal sandbox" to learn enough about Wikipedia so that I might be able to add a few pages.

In particular, I'd like to create a page for Gertrude Moakley, who wrote The Tarot Cards Painted by Bonifacio Bembo for the Visconti-Sforza Family: An Historical and Iconographic Study. This book, written in 1966, still appears to be the only noteworthy attempt to interpret the meaning of the Tarot cards, (excepting the endless occult interpretations), and as such its author should be remembered. Moakley's analysis was set in terms of prominent iconographic themes of the period, and developed in conjunction with Erwin Panofsky, one of the foremost iconographers of the 20th century.

The proposed page should have some basic biographical info and a statement of why she is notable. It should have a section about her assorted writings in connection with Tarot, and a section summarizing her view of the meaning of Tarot cards. A third section should mention some criticisms of her interpretation.
