Consensus must be made before moving a page in general. However, at times it might be difficult to assess whether the consensus is sufficient. This essay attempts to address this problem in very brief.
To assess the consensus in a move discussion, the number of editors supporting a move as opposed to those opposing the moves, must be checked. However, this might be insufficient as all related editors might not be aware of the move discussion in place. Thus, it is recommended that all editors who have previously voted in RMs be notified. In addition to this, all auto-confirmed users who have made more than 1 contribution in the last three months should also be notified. The RM should not be closed until a week after all editors have been notified.
Lastly, if all the above steps have been followed the RM, should be closed after a week after the last !vote. Consensus should be determined by a simple count of editors supporting vs those opposing the move (only if all required editors have been notified, and not unless).
