Early Career
Known as Popsy - ‘The Music Machine’ by musical icon Sukshinder Shinda... he used to be called ‘a talent in the making’ now recognised as one of the biggest bhangra producers in the world. Popsy catapulted into the bhangra music industry and set it on fire. At the age of 12, Popsy started playing the keyboards; mastering his keyboard skills before his teens.
Popsy, largely recognised for his unique keyboard style and ‘unlike anything you’ve ever heard before’ began playing in Meshi Eshara’s live band, after meeting Sukshinder Shinda and being introduced into the immense world of bhangra. Popsy went on to join the live band of the globally recognised and multi-award winning Crown Prince of Bhangra himself, Jazzy B, widely known for his reluctance to work with anyone but the best, whose musical ear picked up on the iconic and rare talent of the flawless Music Machine himself
Since the beginning of Jazzy B’s musical journey, Popsy ‘The Music Machine’ has always been known as the identity of the live band and Jazzy B’s right hand man. Instantly recognised as a member of Jazzy B’s band, it’s clear that the second Popsy sets foot in any stage or arena, Jazzy B is in the house. Since being with Jazzy B, Popsy, ‘Bhangra’s Big Boy’, has captivated millions by the essence of his instrument in the USA, Canada, Greece, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and many other Countries, to name but a few. One of his most astonishing shows to date was the 2005 Wonderland Tour, Canada, which saw Jazzy B, Popsy ‘Bhangra’s Big Boy’ and the boys played to an audience of over 66,000 fans. The result of that concert alone had people talking and asking to praise Popsy ‘The Music Machine’ on his flawless skills, riffs and sounds that erupted his reputation as one of the most unique breed of live musicians. Having performed with majority of worlds top artists at a young age, the aftermath of this concert saw Popsy performing with even more worldwide recognised artists. These artists include; Sukshinder Shinda; Kuldip Manak; Yudvir Manak; AS Kang but Popsy has always remained exclusive to Jazzy B’s live band.
2010’s most anticipated album’s ‘Hyper’ was the Music Machine, Popsy’s fourth prestigious album after his music career took flight almost 15 years ago, and has seen him play all over the world; recognised by millions. Popsy’s first three self-produced hit albums titled ‘Heavy Duty’ and ‘Larger than Life’ saw his musical genius collaborate with smash hit artists such as Kuldip Manak, Lempher Hussanpuri, Ranjit Mani, Shin (D.C.S), Avtar Maniac and Balkar Sidhu, to name but a few. He produced the freshest beats to date; with phenomenal skills and the ability to mix old school and new school music to suit anyone and everyone. Iconic. His third smash hit album ‘Bangin’ which was produced, arranged and co-written by ‘The Music Machine’ himself, launched the bhangra world into a sensational new era, as the likes of ‘Giddha Vich’ (Lempher Hussanpuri) and ‘Guth Te Paranda’ (Shin D.C.S) catapulted into the industry causing a global phenomenon. Popsy has been world widely influenced by the likes of Michael Jackson, Mohammed Rafi, Bob Marley, Timbaland and of course his mentor and very close friend, the legendary Sukshinder Shinda. Popsy has never been one to shy away from challenges and takes pride in pushing his music out, breaking boundaries to exceptional heights and never failing to deliver the best beats and hottest sounds in the industry to date. Due to Popsy’s immense capability of experimenting with sounds, providing melody’s that suits all and taken music to whole new level, it’s a fact this will not be the last you’ll hear of ‘The Music Machine’.
It’s also clear to say which ever country or soil ‘The Music Machine’ Popsy steps onto his music as a producer and live musician will always be recognised.
