- Re anonymity - you're far more anonymous as "randomuser123" than an IP
- Probably more CheckUser workload as a result of doing this - IMO an acceptable tradeoff, but something to keep in mind.
Discussion
Starting this off to get this rolling, as I suspect the more clear a benefit we can provide the more likely it will be to pass. The top two sections will be adjusted/amended as necessary so old versions might be referenced but not exist above. Maybe we'll hat old versions... who knows. Anywho, thoughts and opinions welcomed. - I would point out to people that IP masking is coming and this is a much more elegant solution than the temp usernames the WMF is proposing --Guerillero Parlez Moi 10:30, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
