User:R.Michael Warren

R.Michael Warren has, since 1985, been the Chairman and CEO of The Warren Group Inc., a consulting group that provides strategic advice to governments and corporations [1].He served as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Sunrise Senior Living REIT (2004-2007) [2].

He was the first President and CEO of Canada Post Corporation(1981-1985)[3] and the first Chief General Manager of the Toronto Transit Commission(1975-1981) [4]. During that time he was also the CEO of Grey Coach Lines, and in 1980 acted as Interim General Manager of the Canadian National Exhibition [5].

From 1962 until 1975 Warren was a Deputy Minister in several Ontario Government departments including Solicitor General,Housing and Municipal affairs, Provincial Secretary and Citizenship [6]

He served on a number of corporate boards including MDS Inc [7], Stone and Webster Canada,Ontario International Corporation, and Royal Lepage Advisory Council. He was a director of the American Public Transit Association,Canadian Urban Transit Association, Canadian Marketing Association and Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement Service (OMERS).

Mr. Warren's community service includes board roles with the Metropolitan Toronto YMCA,Toronto Arts Awards, Tom Thomson Art Gallery,and Owen Sound Family Y Regional Recreation Center Fundraising Cabinet.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Transport(UK),a recipient of the Canadian Centennial Medal, and the Sir George Williams University Senior Award.

He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree fro Concordia University and is a member of their Sports Hall of Fame.His opinion columns appear frequently in the Toronto Star, Globe and Mail,and Sun Media papers[[1]]
