Raymond E.Ortiz Jr, better know to the world by Big Rainmond, his stage name is derived from rain a liquid precipitation which take different kind of forms.

Born in the Eastside of Houston,TX in a small hispanic neighborhood in Denver Harbor, where his mother and father struggle to raise there three children in a ghetto separated between hispanics and blacks, Raymond's father who work 20 hours a day from Oil refinery to working at local Hospitals seem to never be home as his mother struggle to find work being from another country was very difficult for her who she left the kids on there own brother 14 being the oldest and Raymond 8 being the smallest seem to never be on the same level. as they part ways during there struggles to survive in the neighborhood there sister to became part of the struggle. when suddenly things would change as child service would try to take them away from there parents but then soon realize there parents struggles and did not take them away they where later soon put in a day care in 5th Ward by there mother, being the only hispanic's in a all black child day care would soon change there lifes as they where treated different then the others. But things would change once again for the better all the hard work his father and mother had put in finally paid off, they would have there mother and father back again. His family moved from the Eastside to the Southwest side and once again made ray change, and promise to never look back ever again and to be as far away as possible. living in a dream that would become a mere reality ,Raymond reaching as far as Miami Florida to the vast forest of Mexico to the desert of Las Vegas, to the stars of Hollywood meeting celebrity such as George Lopez to Cheech Marin to Reese Weatherspoon to Tiny Lester aka Debo from friday to Jay -z and so on which make him who he is today.

Rainmond is the chief engineer/producer for Raymond -Recordz through his label with distribution in Houston under Southwest Wholesale. In 2007 he signed a joint venture between his label and Universal Music Group which earned him a $500,000 advance and national distribution.[3][4]
