Ravi Sam was born in Sri Lanka on the 5th of August 1965. Founder of Veracity Insurance Brokers (Private) Limited.

His parents are Mr.T. R. V. Sam and Mrs. E. J. Sam. His father had his primary education at Mowbray College, Kandy and the he went to India to continue his education. He was active in students union activities. He is a trade unionist in Sri Lanka. Served in many capapcity.

He had his education at St. Thomas' College (Former STPS)

Has a good knowledge in Agriculture, Insurance, Automobile engineering, Politics, diplomacy and conflict resolution.

Has been the President of the Lions Club of Pettah in 2000 District 306 B & secretary in 1999. Had carried our medical camps in Ballaketuwa.

Has been elected to Standing Committee of the Diocese of Colombo of the Church of Ceylon for three consecutive terms. Terms ends in 2012 October. During my tenor I visited Jaffna with the Standing Committee Headed by Bishop Duleep Chikera to hold our Standing Committee meeting Christ Church Jaffna and visit our churches and the people of the area. During this visit Bishop Duleep Chikera soon after worship service washed the legs of Kilinochchi people who were present there.

Is a council member of SLIBA recognised by the government of Sri Lanka.
