I am a new contributor to Wikipedia, with a particular interest in art, Australian cultural history and the history of museums and public institutions (in particular the Australian Museum, Sydney).

I created this account in order to develop and submit a draft article on my father, Francis John Sydney Beeman (born 5 May 1926), an Australian museum exhibition designer, interpretive officer and artist. With his centenary approaching in May, I am seeking to compile a balanced, well-sourced account of his contributions to the development of modern exhibition practice during his career as Officer-in-Charge of the Department of Design and Art at the Australian Museum, Sydney and later within the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service — followed by a decades-long career as a full-time artist. I have referenced his career as an Australian painter covering well over 5 decades. In this time, Beeman has exhibited widely across Australian art galleries; however, this is less well documented in the primary source criteria of Wikipedia.

I am aware this constitutes a conflict of interest and commit to working transparently, welcoming scrutiny from other editors. I aim to ensure that any article meets Wikipedia's requirements for neutrality, verifiability and reliance on published sources.
