Satoryu is the avatar of Chris Kirk, a twenty year old resident of Long Island, New York. He is currently attending Adelphi University with a major in Mathematics. The name Satoryu was created as an avatar name that sounded Japanese. In reality, it does not have an actual meaning. Satoryu is a long time viewer of Wikipedia and has contributed a few edits. These edits, however, were not done under his username due to the fact that he had forgotten his password and never bothered to recover it.

Satoryu is primarily a fan of video games and anime. Specifically, he prefers more traditional video games such as platformers and adventure games. His favorite series include but are not limited to Metroid, Sonic the Hedgehog (in exclusion of some recent titles), Mega Man (excluding the Battle Network and Star Force series), and Castlevania. His tastes in anime are generally mixed, liking shows in most genres. Like many, his first anime was Dragon Ball Z, but since then his tastes have matured. Recent favorite shows include Godannar, Air Gear, Pani Poni Dash!, and Death Note. Other older favorites include Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Excel Saga, and Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie.

Satoryu takes his love of gaming to a different level by speedrunning. Most if not all of his works are found at Speed Demos Archive. His work currently consists primarily of Mega Man speedruns, with the exception of two runs of Castlevania games.

Satoryu has a few other talents. He can recite dialogue from many television shows nearly verbatim. Coupled with that is a list of impressions he can do. Some of his better impressions are of Zero and Spongebob. He has also dabbled into writing fanfiction, but has only published three works.
