My name is Kendall Upton and I joined Wikipedia as a user in October 2021. My sole purpose for creating this account is to propose the creation of and help create an article about the comedian Brad Upton

This user has publicly declared that they have a conflict of interest regarding the Wikipedia article Brad Upton (comedian).

, which does not yet exist (and should be disambiguated from the trumpet player of the same name). After extensive review of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines in WP:POL and their notability standards in WP:N, I believe that this subject has a place on Wikipedia's website and I vow to abide by them to the best of my ability.

It is with full transparency that I disclose my relationship to the subject of the aforementioned article on Brad Upton (comedian) since he is my father. I am not affiliated with any business that pays Brad Upton nor I am being paid by him directly. If this article is eventually published, I will not receive financial compensation from any individual or organization. I understand that in accordance with Wikipedia's Conflict of Interest (COI) guidelines in WP:CONFLICT, articles should not be written by family members and that maintaining neutrality with a real or possible COI, even with the best of efforts and truest intentions, can be extremely challenging and may result in the removal of the article. That is why I will seek the support of the community of editors prior to publication in the article talk pages and the Conflict of Interest Noticeboard (COIN) if necessary so that the article can be scrupulously peer reviewed and have the best chance of publication, in spite of the innate challenges when writing with a COI.
