Dolby 3D Move Technology: Even though 3D film has existed in some form since 1915, the use of 3D technology has been a hot seller in the entertainment business. Described as a unique 3D technology that conveys realistic color and sharp imagery, Dolby 3D strives to prove the concept of every seat being the best seat in the house[1] . The use of Dolby 3D serves as a user-friendly database, which is the system, is easy to install as well as operate. The process of manufacturing 3D technology has also been proven to be cost-effective. Dolby ensures that that viewer can have the option of either choosing to view their presentation in 2D and 3D modes. The simple installation consists of a rotating color filter wheel that is simply installed into the existing digital projects and can be directed to revoke for 2D playback.
Dolby 3D Glasses:
The vast increase of feature presentations being produced in light of 3D technology in the last decade has been astounding. The demand for many films to be produced in three-dimensional frames has been increasing ever since the release of James Cameron’s Avatar in 2009. The glasses that Dolby provides during their feature presentations are described as comfortable, lightweight, and are available in two sizes: one for adults and one for youths. By developing disposable glasses, that can be used countless amount of times, viewers are able to savor their 3D glasses, which is better for the environment as manufacturing decreases. With RealD disposable 3D glasses dominating the market with their cheaper glasses, Dolby is consistently trying to lower their cost to produce and supply their products to theatres worldwide.
Dolby 3D Glasses-Free Technology:
In collaboration with Phillips, Dolby is set to manufacture displays with the use of a sheet of undulated plastic in order to deflect pixels in various directions. There are 26 different viewing angles in all that the 3D effects can impact the human eye. Due to the image being sent to many directions, at once the viewing platform will required a high-resolution screen to view the 3D presentation effectively. Platforms with higher screen resolutions such quad-HD TV. With the complexity of the 26 viewing angles, Dolby reports that the technology will be more difficult to achieve on small viewing devices such as smartphones. Both Dolby and Phillips are waiting for higher resolution displays to become more mainstream, and essentially inexpensive, and more affordable for consumers.

The six Dolby cinema formats that contribute to the making of 3D films are Dolby Atmos, Dolby Surround 7.1, Dolby 3D, Dolby Digital Cinema, Dolby Digital Surround EX, and Dolby Digital Analog.
Dolby Atmos:
Dolby Atmos reinvents traditional surround sound methodology. It introduces a powerful new listening experience for the movies, with audio that allows you to hear the whole picture. With Dolby Atmos technology, filmmakers can create the illusion of realism to heighten the imagery throughout the film. Dolby Atmos reproduces a natural lifelike audio experience that matches the story.
Dolby Surround 7.1:

By adding two additional discrete audio channels, Dolby Surround 7.1 takes the excitement of movies to the next level and truly immerses you in the action, making film presentations more engaging. The main purpose of Dolby Surround 7.1 is to improve the surround sound experience across the entire theatre seating area.

Dolby Digital Cinema:
The most common Digital Cinema technology used in today’s movie theatres. Dolby Digital Cinema is a complete, reliable, and flexible solution. Dolby Digital Cinema replaces traditional film prints with a digital bit stream, which enhances the movie viewing experience. With rich colours, vivid visual details, and vibrant surround sound, Dolby Digital Cinema triggers a simulation of being in the actual film to experience the film exactly as the director intended it to be viewed by reproducing all of the sounds and imagery with digital accuracy.
Dolby Digital Surround EX:
Dolby Digital Surround EX takes 5.1 a step further into the viewing pleasure of the feature presentation. The soundtrack of the film reproduced by speakers, are placed behind the audience. This creates a new dimension to the Dolby Digital 5.1 cinematic experience; bringing the action on screen to life. Dolby Digital Surround EX technology created a fuller, more realistic sound for increased dramatic effect in the theatre. On the film itself, the additional back surround information contained in the Surround EX soundtrack is matrix-encoded onto the regular left and right surround channels of conventional Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks. Even if a cinema is not equipped with the extra Surround EX speakers in the rear, the information intended for it will be played through the traditional left and right surround channels.
Dolby Digital Analog:
Dolby Digital is the reigning standard in surround sound today. The original Dolby® multichannel film sound format revolutionized the movie going experience, and it is still included today on nearly all 35 mm film prints. This analog optical technology encodes the soundtrack into four channels: Left, Center, Right, and Surround. The first three plays back on speakers located behind the screen, and Surround is heard over speakers at the sides and rear of the theatre for ambient sound and special effects. Dolby analog soundtracks now incorporate Dolby SR technology, which significantly improves the dynamic range. The analog soundtrack is still used in cinemas not equipped for digital playback. In digitally equipped theatres, it serves as a backup in case of problems with the digital track.
