George Harris and The Memory Makers are a folk trio founded in Preston, Lancashire, consisting of George Harris, Jack Rostron (Drums) and Carl Slater (Bass)

History

Hailing from Preston, Lancashire, this Folk ‘n’ Roll trio craft beautiful folk country music, and has been described as "ear pleasingly melodic hooks with a raw, rootsy stomp, all seamlessly glued together with Georges timeless voice". The back beat of the songs gravitates towards honest folk based music with a retro blues tint, while George takes inspiration from the shade and sunshine of life to pen down his thoughts.

Goerge began his music career as a solo artist performing in cafes, pubs and garden parties. In 2012, after playing the circuit as a solo artist, George cultivated like minded musicians to add the hair-raising lows and solid pace to his performance which led to the eponymous EP of summer 2013. In September 2013, the departure of their original bass player saw a change in bass playing duties as George enlisted the help of Carl Slater. The new line-up only added fuel to the song writing fire, and with plenty up their sleeves, the Memory Makers are recording for release in 2015 their second, yet to be titled, EP. Marching to the beat of their own drum, the memory makers tore their music down to the bare foundations, before sculpting it into their vision for the new EP.

George Harris and The Memory Makers spent 2014 performing relentlessly in pubs, cafes, garden parties and festivals. On June 22nd, 2014 George Harris and The Memory Makers performed at Ravenstonedale Festival, a unique small friendly festival which is situated in the Eden Valley at High Greenside, Kirkby Stephen, in Cumbria at the foot of the Howgills.
