Founded in 2006 by Boxing Promoter Ernest Rutherford, but we did'nt tell you that and thats all you need to know.

Ernie Rutherford was a Bare Knuckle Fighter, Unlicensed Boxer and Professional Boxing Trainer. Born in 1968 on the harsh Windsor Road Estate in Sidcup, Kent.


He recalls his first present was a pair of boxing gloves, punching the life out of each other, referring to he's brother ollie. We'd fight in the front room, in the garden, wherever there was space we had a good set too.

At the age of ten he went to the Hollies gym in sidcup where he wanted to learn how to fight spending the next 30 years in gym's up and down the country. Travelling and Fighting on the Unlicensed Boxing Circuit.

A show in the Island Nightclub, Ilford essex. He met Mark Patrick who was boxing on the same bill, the nephew of the famous boxing trainer George patrick under Barry Hearn's 'Matchroom Sport' Mark offering a a place down at the Matchroom Gym in Essex to train, training alongside the pro's for five years, later moving over to Frank maloneys Fight Factory to become a professional Boxing trainer for around 3 years.

Rubbing shoulder's with some of the worlds great champions and fighters.

Marco Antonio Barrera, Colin Dunn, Duke Mckenzie, Richard Williams, Richard Evert, David Haye, Francis Anpothfo, Johnny Armour, Michael Airs, Kevin lucian, Ted Bammy, Gary Walcombe, Danny Hunt, Nicky Cook, Stevie Roberts to name but a few.

Going onto train Rob Jeffries, who won the 'Southern Area Title' for the light weight division with a record of 9-0-0. Leaving the Fight Factory he decided to start he's own Boxing Promotion, Thus Southside Boxing is born.
