I (Tom Stibolt) was born and raised in Illinois. I hold a BS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and an MD from Rush University. I am board ceritifed in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases.

I retired from Kaiser Permanente in Portland Oregon in November, 2009 and am currently doing Research at the Kaiser Center for Health Research in Portland. I am also the editor for the website of the American Thoracic Society in New York.
