I teach part-time at three universities in the Tokyo area. I have lived in Japan over 30 years and also two years in Taiwan, six months in Switzerland, and half a year in Mexico. Some of my EFL students are trying to translate Japanese Wikipedia articles into English and I am helping this. At work and home I use Japanese every day, but still make some errors. My Chinese, German, and Spanish is rather basic. I have edited many academic papers, and am usually confident of my English corrections, but less so about my corrections in other languages.
